NIJ 0115.00 第 3 級 (Level 3) 
是美國國家司法研究院 (NIJ) 針對個人防刺服所訂定的最高保護等級。此標準專門測試防護衣抵禦手持尖銳武器（如商業生產的刀具或手工製作的尖刺）穿透的能力。 
關鍵性能規格 
NIJ Level 3 的測試包含兩個能量階段，旨在確保防護衣在正常及極端衝擊下都能保護重要器官： 
E1 測試能量 (43 ± 0.60 焦耳)：模擬一般人能發揮的高強度打擊力。在此能量下，刀尖或尖刺進入防護衣的深度不得超過 7 公釐 (0.28 英吋)，以防止傷及內部器官。
E2 過度測試能量 (65 ± 0.80 焦耳)：此階段將能量提升 50%，模擬極端情況下的全力衝擊。在此能量下，穿透深度不得超過 20 公釐 (0.79 英吋)，以確保防護衣不會發生全面潰敗。 
威脅類別與應用 
防護衣通常會針對兩種不同的威脅類別進行測試：
Edged Blade (刀刃)：針對高品質、商業銷售的刀具（如 S1 與 P1 測試刀刃）。
